Walter Levan Skilled Trades Scholarship

In the spirit of our founder, Walter Levan, Levan Machine and Truck Equipment will award $2,500 to an Oley Valley High School senior who works smart AND hard and is pursuing a 2-year or 4-year degree, or advanced certification, in CNC machining, manufacturing or mechanical engineering, welding, or automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment technology. Students pursuing a degree or certification in automotive repair and/or restoration are also encouraged to apply for this scholarship.
The scholarship winner will receive $1,500 for their first year of post-secondary education, and $1,000 for their second year of school if they achieve a minimum 3.0GPA upon completion of year one.
Walter Levan was innovative. He found a solution to any problem, surrounded himself with other skilled workers to collaborate on projects, and subsequently held several product patents. Our employees are also very skilled, and that is why our company successfully reached our 90th anniversary this year.
Our scholarship is for young people who possess the following characteristics:
- recognize skilled trades workers keep the lights on, maintain the manufacturing process regardless of the economic climate, and contribute to society by thinking “outside of the box”
- has a commitment to continued learning to improve skills and discover new technologies
- strong work ethic
- positive attitude
- has a personal responsibility to others, and values service to their community

their butt day in and day out, even when no one is looking.
