The OVCEF hosts 4 annual fundraising events to help fund the programs and projects it supports.

2026 is OVCEF's 30th Anniversary!

The Oley Valley Community Education Foundation is celebrating its 30th ANNIVERSARY in 2026, and we are celebrating this momentous occasion with our first Academy Awards of Excellence GALA event on Friday, March 27, 2026. The impactful programs we have implemented in each of our schools and the community are because of our many donors, sponsors, trustees, and supporters over those 30 years.


In addition to celebrating our 30th anniversary, we will honor Gary Weller, a graduate of Oley Valley High School and long-time resident of our community. Gary is also a founding member and Trustee of the Oley Valley Community Education Foundation, and the former owner of Rolling Rock Building Stone.


The Academy Awards of Excellence Gala will raise monies to fund annual scholarships and teacher education grants within the Oley Valley School District through a silent auction and raffles that guarantee to have everyone talking! We will also hold a Fund-A-Need live auction to raise money to assist financing much-needed sound and lighting upgrades to the Oley Valley High School auditorium. The auditorium is used by students and our community through our music and arts programs.

Friends of the Foundation

The Oley Valley Community Education Foundation (OVCEF) was established in 1996 and is celebrating over 25 years of enhancing educational excellence in the Oley Valley. OVCEF is governed by a Board of Trustees made up of community members working in concert with, but independent of, the Oley Valley School District, to help educators enhance the educational opportunities for students of the Oley Valley School District. In addition, as indicated in our name, we are also focused on providing educational opportunities to the Oley Valley community at large. Examples of this community focus can be seen through our sponsorship of the Oley Valley Community Library Summer Learning Program and the monthly Second Saturday Workshop Series.

Education Improvement Tax Credit
 How would you like to reduce your Pennsylvania tax liability by making contributions to the Oley Valley Community Education Foundation (OVCEF), an organization whose mission is enhancing educational opportunities for the students, residents, employees, and alumni of the Oley Valley School District? The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s (DCED) Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program allows you to do just that.
OVCEF is a qualifying Educational Improvement Organization (EIO) that can turn your contributions into Pennsylvania tax credits. Business can apply for tax credits through the EITC Program and turn contributions to OVCEF into Pennsylvania tax credits. If the business commits to one year of support, a 75% tax credit will be awarded and if the business commits to two consecutive years of support, a 90% tax credit will be awarded. For example, if a business commits to one year of support and contributes $1,000 to a qualifying organization like OVCEF, it will receive a $750 tax credit; or if it commits to two consecutive years of support, it will receive a $900 tax credit each year. As can be seen, a two year commitment will only cost $.10 on the dollar and this cost could be further reduced depending on the tax benefit of the allowed Federal charitable contribution deduction on the contribution. Tax credits not used in the tax year the contribution is made may not be carried forward or back and is not refundable or transferable.
The tax credit is available to offset the following Pennsylvania taxes:
  • Corporate Net Income Tax
  • Personal Income Tax (via pass through entities)
  • Bank Shares Tax
  • Insurance Premium Tax
  • Mutual Thrift Tax
  • Title Insurance & Trust Company Shares Tax
Existing businesses that are already participating in the EITC Program should renew their annual applications on May 15th and any new business that would like to participate in the Program or existing businesses that would like to apply for an additional amount of credit should submit its application on July 1. All applications are submitted through the DCED’s website HERE

Tax credit applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a limited amount of money available per year so check it now for either this year or next year so your company doesn’t miss this great opportunity. Your accountant will be able to assist you with the application process, or you can contact OVCEF for assistance with the application.
